Hold the Froot Loops Mom… A recently released Kellogg’s recall includes more than 28 million boxes of their most crowd pleasing cereals….
Among the no-no’s for that hectic Monday morning are Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Honey Smacks, and Corn Pops.
So much for “Toucan Sam” if you’re unfortunate enough to have purchased from the recalled lot. Reportedly, consumers were tipped off by an unusual odor and less than standard taste from the tainted boxes.
No contaminants have been found in the packaging or cereal itself, however, an elevated waxy resin was found on the paper backed foil liners housing the cereal. The resin is similar to that of the coating used to seal “waxy” foods, but some consumers have reported nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea within 15 minutes of consuming the recalled products.
Although found to be contaminant free, these reports prompted a Kellogg’s recall, and officials for Kellogg are urging their consumers not eat the product as it does not conform to the company’s quality standards.
If you discover you have purchased one of these recalled cereals you may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or contact the Consumer Response Center at 888-801-4163. Looks like Pop Tarts in the morning kiddos…
