Take a good look…this could be your new “American Idol” judges panel…
More Hollywood Dirt…
Nothing is official yet and reps for Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and [lastfm]Jennifer Lopez [/lastfm]have not commented on the “Idol” rumors but TMZ is reporting that the deal is still being finalized. However, a spokesperson for Aerosmith did say that no matter what, “the [lastfm]Aerosmith[/lastfm] tour will continue on for its full scheduled run with Steven Tyler”. (Now in cases like this reps usually dispel rumors quickly but since there’s been no word I tend to believe these rumors are true. Aerosmith’s current tour runs through September which would free Steven in time for Idol. The band could even write and record another album with Steven while he’s in L-A doing Idol.) As for Randy Jackson, word has it that he almost got the boot too but in the end the producers wanted to keep a connection to the original judges panel and he still had a year left on his contract. Some say FOX could make all this official TODAY at a pre-planned media event…”Entertainment Weekly” says no announcement is expected for a while.
This seems to be the year of celebrity weddings, there were two more this past weekend. Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton married her fiance, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday in Rhinebeck, New York. She’s 30…he’s 32. There were 400 guests including Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and movie producer Steve Bing. The guest list wasn’t packed with Chelsea’s parents A-list friends instead most of the guests were friends of the couple. The ceremony was conducted by a Reverend and a Rabbi because Chelsea is Methodist and Marc is Jewish. She got at least one special consideration…the FAA designated Rhinebeck as a “no-fly zone” during the wedding. (Hey no pesky tabloid photographers circling in helicopters!) Here’s some pictures of the happy couple:
Speaking of happy couples, [lastfm]Alicia Keys [/lastfm]and producer Swizz Beatz made it official on Saturday on the French island of Corsica. It was a small wedding with Bono and [lastfm]Queen Latifah[/lastfm] among the guests. Deepak Chopra conducted the ceremony. The two are expecting their first child later this year. Here’s a wedding picture:
News not as happy for Heidi Montag…she filed for divorce from Spencer Pratt on Friday citing the ever popular “irreconcilable differences”. After the announcement, Spencer took the chance to grab what will hopefully be his last moment in the spotlight. His statement, “I love Heidi, but our marriage was a show. It was part of ‘The ‘Hills’ world, and that world is on a sound stage. Some say if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Well, Heidi couldn’t handle King Spencer’s fame so she got out of the marriage.”
According to the World Wide Web, “America’s Got Talent” Judge Piers Morgan will replace Larry King after “Larry King Live” ends this coming November. Supposedly, Piers and CNN are finalizing a deal now…and the official announcement is expected within the next two weeks.
Rob Lowe appeared on the final two episodes of “Parks and Recreation” last season and there was word that he would be back for “a number of episodes” this season…but now it’s official: He’ll be a full, regular cast member. The next season of “Parks” won’t premiere until this winter.
A rep for [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] ‘s estate tells “Rolling Stone” that an album of Michael’s unreleased music will come out sometime in November. For now all I know about the disc is that it’ll feature ten songs. This could be the first of many posthumous releases from the King of Pop. Frank DiLeo…who was Michael’s manager…estimates there are over 100 finished Michael Jackson songs which have never seen the light of day. Some recent ones include collaborations with [lastfm]Akon[/lastfm], [lastfm]Ne-Yo[/lastfm] and Will.I.Am of the [lastfm]Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm].
NBC has announced that “30 Rock” will do a LIVE episode this season and they’ll do it TWICE…once for the East Coast and once for the WEST. Set your DVR’s…it will air on October 14th.
