[lastfm]Britney Spears [/lastfm]is about to be back in control …
During a court hearing yesterday, the consensus was that the conservatorship that Britney’s been under since February of 2008 is no longer necessary. According to E!Online, the court is setting the process in motion to have it dissolved. A so-called source says “Everyone involved believes she has the necessary proof that she is competent to be in charge of her affairs. She’s more than ready.” As for the lawsuit filed by Britney’s former bodyguard, claiming that the pop star sexually harassed him and abused her kids …well it sounds like it’s being ignored. Andrew Wallet…who’s been helping take care of Britney’s affairs along with her father Jamie Spears… says “One has nothing to do with the other. The lawsuit…was [filed] for sensational headlines only.”
Why people keep trying to start feuds between Betty White and other older actresses I don’t know but here’s the latest…a feud between Betty and 79-year old Doris Roberts who played Ray Romano’s mother on “Everybody Loves Raymond”. I don’t know who these ‘people’ are but they say Doris considers Betty her main competition and she gets INFURIATED when Betty beats her out of a role, because she thinks she has “more comedic timing.” In fact, when Betty takes a part from her, she runs the script through a shredder. Well NONE of this is true. In fact, Doris tells “Us Weekly“,”Why would I not want the best for her? She’s great! I admire her tremendously. I’m so pleased that things are happening for her, because she’s showing us that anybody over the age of 50 is perfectly capable of doing all these things. She’s our leader…!”
Congratulations to Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem…they’re going to be PARENTS! Penelope is four-and-a-half months pregnant with Javier’s baby. No word on the baby’s sex or due date.
Looks like news of a “Speidi” divorce was too good to be true. Spencer Pratt was in Costa Rica with Heidi Montag last week where he was detained on a minor firearms charge. That incident seems to have changed Heidi’s mind about the split. She says, “As far as I’m concerned, the last thing in the world after everything we have just been through is to go through with this divorce. But we are just taking life second, by second”.
A somber note: Billie Mae Richards …the woman who provided the voice of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”…died at her home near Toronto this past Friday. She was 88-years old. Billie was a Canadian radio actress who was chosen for the part because she could sound like a young boy. She was Rudolph’s voice in the classic 1964 TV special and the sequels which have run at holiday time ever since. Billie Mae also voiced Tenderheart Bear in “The Care Bears Movie” and TV series back in the ’80’s and Brightheart Raccoon in “Care Bears: Forever Friends” in 2004.
