I was looking at the recent halftime shows featured during the “big game” and noticed something interesting…it’s all been “dudes” performing since the “Janet” episode.
Yup. Ever since the “wardrobe malfunction” during the infamous halftime show here in Houston years ago, NFL officials have had what seems like a ban on female performers.
Who gets the honor of breaking that streak? None other than Fergie who plays this Sunday in Dallas.
Here is a list of the performers since Miss Jackson:
- Paul McCartney in ’05.
- The Rolling Stones ’06.
- Prince ’07.
- Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers ’08.
- Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band ’09.
The Black Eyed Peas’ Super Bowl set list had not been confirmed, but should Fergie perform “My Humps” and show too much of one of her “lovely lady lumps” it’s a safe bet the ban on women performers will be reinstated.
