‘TV Pitchman’ Don Lapre Commits Apparent Suicide

Wildly known as “The King of Infomercials”, Don Lapre was found dead in his Arizona jail cell by committing suicide.

Lapre was found dead in his jail cell just days before he was to go on trial for selling  millions of dollars of bogus vitamins. During Lapre’s many years as a pitchman, he promoted various products; products that were no good even though he said they were. Be careful what you stand behind, sad he felt taking his life was the only way out.

He was facing 41 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud and promotional money laundering for a product called, “The Greatest Vitamin in the World.” The FDA differs and claims that the pitchman was making wild assumptions about the vitamin that were unsupported by evidence.

The U.S Marshals are investigating the death of Lapre since the exact way he was killed is unclear at this time.

Lapre was accused of lying to approximately 220,000 people out of a $52 million national scam for the vitamin scandal alone.
