It’s called The Waffle Bus… enough said!
They’re serving up a classic tasty southern combo: Fried Chicken and Waffles. (I got the one served with the spicy mayo). And DAMN is it tasty. They fold the waffle like a sandwich, so it’s actually not messy to eat. It’s by far their most popular order.
They also serve up a burger-on-a-waffle, or on the sweeter side of the menu, the Waffle with Strawberry Irish Creme Brulee (?!?!?!?! YES PLEASE!) (Here’s their menu.)
The truck’s owner, Phi Nguyen labored over the waffle iron through many trials to get the perfect batter recipe — and they mix the batter and cook the waffles fresh right in the truck!
The Waffle Bus is one of the 34 Food Trucks participating in Haute Wheels Houston, a festival of food — served on wheels — at HCC West Campus May 12-13th.
I’m definitely saving room to try that Strawberry Irish Creme Brulee waffle. Wowzers.
