Galveston’s PLEASURE PIER Set For Preview This Weekend

According to the Houston Chronicle, Galveston’s newly redeveloped Pleasure Pier on Seawall Boulevard will be giving us a little preview of what’s to come starting THIS weekend!

The formal opening doesn’t have a date yet, but Landry’s Inc. (the folks behind the theme park) have announced that 13 of the 16 rides and a restaurant will open up at noon on Friday.

The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is set up where the old Flagship Hotel previously was, which suffered severe damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008. Not sure if you knew this, but the hotel, itself, replaced an amusement park on the pier that Hurricane Carla badly damaged in 1962.

I can’t wait until Pleasure Pier fully opens! Looks like so much fun!
