Thousands of volunteers and over 35,000 participants will take part in the 22nd Annual Komen Houston Race for the Cure on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 in Downtown Houston!
Last year’s event had over 33,000 participants, including over 2,400 breast cancer survivors, and raised over $4 million for breast cancer research education, screening and treatment programs. This year’s Race, sponsored locally by Marathon Oil Corporation, hopes to raise more than $4 million to be used here in Southeast Texas for research, education, screening and treatment.
The Komen Houston Race for the Cure is a certified USATF 5K course with running and walking events that include a 5K Timed Competitive Run; a 5K Non-Competitive Run; a 5K Walk and a Family Walk / Kids K. (approximately 1/2 mile)
