“Family Guy” Creator Seth MacFarlane To Host Oscars

Prepare for a spectacular night of glitz, glamor…and giggles. “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane has been tapped to host the 2013 Oscars. MacFarlane, 38, is also the co-creator of “American Dad” and The Cleveland Show.

As a veteran live stage performer, MacFarlane kicked off “Saturday Night Live”‘s 38th season by hosting the premiere episode, and has brought his skill set to  sold-out audiences at London’s Royal Albert Hall as well as  Carnegie Hall in New  York.

Referred to as “unbelievably talented” by industry heavy weights, MacFarlane has been nominated for 13 Emmys and two GRAMMY Awards during his career.

He’s a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and studied animation. He then earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In addition to being creator of “Family Guy” and co-creator of “American Dad”, MacFarlane’s credits include being both an animator and writer for such shows as “Johnny Bravo”, “Cow and Chicken”, “Dexter’s Laboratory” and “I Am Weasel”. The 85th Annual Academy Awards will broadcast live on February 24, 2013 on ABC.
