Two “golden girls” with even more golden careers in entertainment have been tapped to host the 2013 Golden Globes. The latest entertainment reports indicate that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the award show that honors the best in television and cinema.
Fey and Poehler who have a long history of working together, reached stardom as the amusing and witty co-anchors on the “Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update desk from 2004 to 2006. The duo also starred in the 2004 film Mean Girls and the 2008 film Baby Mama.
The pair are seen as Hollywood’s “it girls” and have a tremendous track record of success working together.
The Golden Globes is an award show that honors the best in television and film as determined by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Usually, the Golden Globes are handed out before the Academy Award nominations are announced; however, that won’t be the case in 2013. The Oscar nominations will occur on January 10, 2013. They nods will take place three days before the Golden Globes award show.
The 70th annual Golden Globes award show will air on NBC on January 13, 2013.
