By: CICELY MITCHELL

The shooting tragedy at Newtown may not be a story that is currently within the news headlines, but it seems to be within the hearts of many music superstars such as Taylor Swift.

Reports indicate that Swift set her guitar and lyric writing aside to assist those affected by the shooting massacre in Newtown.

On December 14, 2012, 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members in a mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the village of Sandy Hook in Newtown, Connecticut.

The shooting massacre at Newtown became the second deadliest shooting in American history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre. It also became the second deadliest mass murder at an American elementary school, after the 1927 Bath School bombings in Michigan.
