Last night the Bruins, Boston’s hockey team, hosted the Sabres in Boston’s first major sporting event since the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Needless to say, it was a very emotional night for players and fans at the game, where security obviously was heightened upon entering the venue.
Before the game started, there was a blue and yellow ribbon projected on the ice and the Boston Fire Department Honor Guard present to represent the city’s first repsonders. As singer Rene Rancourt started to sing the National Anthem, something very emotional happened: the ENTIRE audience started singing with him.
