Reese Witherspoon Apologizes For Behavior; ‘Embarrassed’ By Arrest

It’s safe to say that famed actress Reese Witherspoon had an eventful weekend. Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were arrested Friday. Toth was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol while the Oscar-winning actress was charged with interfering with the arrest of her husband.

After the couple was stopped, Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer. Witherspoon was instructed to “sit on her butt and be quiet.”

Witherspoon, however, did not follow orders and got of the vehicle. When the trooper warned her again, Witherspoon allegedly told him she was a U.S. citizen and allowed to “stand on American ground.” Well her allegiance to America got her handcuffed and arrested. Oops…

A court hearing on a disorderly conduct charge is scheduled for Witherspoon, who said she’s “deeply embarrassed” by what she said to a state trooper during a traffic stop in Atlanta over the weekend.

According to Atlanta Municipal Court records, Witherspoon’s case was scheduled for a Monday morning hearing. Although Witherspoon is not required to be at the hearing, she was deeply apologetic about the arrest. We hope it does not happen again… chances are she feels the same way as we do.

Did Witherspoon deserve to be arrested? Sound off and watch related video below:
