Estefan, a Cuban-born American singer, songwriter, producer, actress and entrepreneur is known for such hits as “Conga”, “”Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” and other songs that have garnered her tremendous success in the United States as well as abroad.
Her latest music album will showcase her signature style coupled with classic songs that have stood the test of time. Estefan has called the project one that has been in the works for some time.
With a heritage built upon Latin rhythms, and tremendous crossover appeal, Estefan reportedly grew up listening to such musicians as Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra. She took the time to enlist the talents and creativity of Dave Koz for newest project which evolved into him being featured on the on the lead single and Gershwin classic, “How Long Has This Been Going On” as well as “The Way You Look Tonight.”
Estefan’s new “Standards” compilation will also be sung in Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese and French; she also wrote several lyrics herself for the new project.
In addition to her versatility, her crossover appeal and success as an artist in the United States, Estefan is listed in the top 100 best selling music artists with an estimated 100 million records sold worldwide.
She has won seven GRAMMY Awards and is the most successful crossover performer in Latin music to date. “The Standards” is set to be released on September 10th.
