Had she lived, Whitney Houston would have celebrated her 50th birthday Friday, August 9th. Houston died back in February of 2012.

Houston was deemed a singing sensation and went on to dominate music and evolve as a singer, actress and producer. In her early years, Houston was also a model.

In 2009, the Guinness World Records cited her as the most awarded female act of all time. She then went on to be one of the world’s best-selling music artists, having sold over 200 million records worldwide.

With six studio albums to her credit as well as one holiday albums and three movie soundtrack albums, all of Houston’s garnered crossover appeal on the popular music charts.

A plethora of hits are credited to the singing sensation from “How Will I Know”, to her most beloved rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of one of the most versatile women in music and history, Whitney Houston.

Ms. Houston, we indeed will always love you and remember to take the notes you sung and string them along with our lives, remembering that trials as well as triumphs can be great stepping stones to greatness.
