Lauren’s Lowdown For Wednesday August 21, 2013

>>> Does singing about a Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger with Twitter-written lyrics mark the lowest or HIGHEST point of a music career? I think for Nick Lachey, this is AWESOME.

The 98 Degrees frontman has linked up with Wendy’s to promote their newest summer menu item, the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. The way this campaign works is that you tweet Wendy’s about this burger and include “#PretzelLoveSongs.” Then they sift through those tweets and use them to create lyrics to a love ballad about cheeseburgers. It’s brilliant.
Lachey was apparently more than happy to be involved in Wendy’s campaign, telling the Daily News, “I’ve obviously never had the opportunity to write a song about a Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger.”

>>> Beyonce spent over $2000 on WHAT for her touring entourage?

It must be her soutern hospitality, but Beyonce doesn’t let her entourage go hungry! After her performance at the V Festival in England last weekend, she reportedly ordered about $2,200 worth of food from Nando’s including 58 wing platters, 48 whole chickens, 12 veggie burgers, 24 orders of coleslaw and 24 rice dishes. The Daily Mail actually has the receipt that shows her order that was listed under “Beyonce K.” (no nickname for her!)

Beyonce’s extravagant order of course made it to Facebook and Twitter, with 1 employee tweeting, “Too excited that Beyonce is ordering a Nando’s from us, if only she would pick it up herself!” Then 2 guy employees shared a picture of themselves working a grill with the caption, “Nando’s UK cooking Beyonce wings while she’s at V Festival.” (worries about other things that could possibly be in her order?)

>>> Kelly Clarkson not married yet, but already OVER her wedding??

Kelly Clarkson sat down with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show and they chatted about Kelly’s upcoming wedding to Brandon Blackstock.

She said, “It’s two months away. It’s at the end of October. I’m so over it. It’s so overwhelming. We’re just doing a lot: touring and the wedding and the Christmas album, so I’m over the wedding part.”
She got engaged back in December 2012, and if you didn’t know—Brandon is the song of Kelly’s longtime manager Narvel Blackstock and stepson of Reba McEntire. FYI, he already has two kids from a previous marriage.

Kelly said, “I have a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old now . . . after being single for six years! We all live together and everything . . . it’s so different, but it’s perfect. They’re awesome and I actually really dig the mom thing . . . I am quick to go, ‘I told you not to touch that!’ . . . I am totally my mom. My mom was a hard mom.”

>>> Simon Cowell excited to be a dad?

Simon Cowell is feelin “good” about the baby him and Lauren Silverman are having, adding, “I’m proud to be a dad.” For the first time Simon’s really addressed the baby-daddy issue. The 53-year-old says he’s changed his outlook on parenthood in the past few months bsically saying he wasn’t always so ok with the idea …adding, “Now I know I feel good about it.” So far, no word on when the baby is due.

>>> Which celeb couple who are about to be parents say they were going to name their baby North but Kim and Kanye got it first?

Josh Duhamel told E! News that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West stole his baby name so he chose another with Fergie. “I grew up in North Dakota so we were going to name it North but Kim and Kanye took that.” On the name they have actually chosen, Josh says “It’s a fairly traditional name but you don’t hear it very often. It means a lot to both of us and part of it is a family name. We’re not telling anybody because we don’t want to hear it. No matter what you choose, people are going to have their comments.”
