Are you in need of a “roaring good time” this weekend? Then head over to the Houston Zoo for “Lion Fun Days”!

This weekend, the public is invited to participate in “Lion Fun Days” and learn how the lions live!

It’s hard to believe, but the King of the Jungle is in trouble”, stated officials with the Houston Zoo.

“The population of African lions is falling at an alarming rate, with an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 lions left in all of Africa. Field researchers and conservationists believe the decline can be slowed and eventually reversed through community outreach and education.”

During “Lion Fun Days”, participants will have the opportunity to talk to zoo keepers, as well as enjoy fun-filled activities such as arts, crafts and more!

There will also be souvenirs for sale that include “…wire snare traps, handmade art and items from Africa, coloring books, magnets, buttons, t-shirts and more”, added officials from the Houston Zoo.

“All proceeds from Lion Fun Days sales directly benefit the Niassa Lion Project,” added officials close to the endeavor.
