GRAMMY-winning pop singer Bruno Mars is reportedly set to bring his musical magnetic power to the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show next February; the NFL made the announcement on Sunday.
The “Locked Out Of Heaven” signer appeared on the “Fox NFL Sunday” for the announcement just before the kickoff of the first week of Sunday afternoon games in the regular season.
Although the Super Bowl is still five months away, the publicity campaign for the halftime show is evidence that the music and entertainment for the game is indeed a huge part of the Super Bowl. In fact, some would argue that it rivals the act
“The Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year,” the NFL press release stated. “More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s show.”
Super Star singer Beyonce was the last entertainer for halftime entertainment during the Super Bowl.
Mars who was born Peter Gene Hernandez in Hawaii 27 years ago, is know for such hits as “Treasure”, “Just The Way You Are”, “If I Was Your Man”, “It Will Rain” and a slew of other hits.
