In many aspects it’s hard believe that a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks launched by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

For many of us, we remember what we were doing, when we heard the news.

Most of us were frozen with fear and confusion and then sadness set in.

Thousands of lives were lost and life for all of us changed.

Over a decade later, we still remember what happened on that fateful day but there is optimism and a re-dedication to love and light that we will continue to share with others.

On this day, we will vow not to dwell on the despair we felt that day but rather the opportunity we were given to share love, support, encouragement and inspiration to family, friends and even strangers.

As a country we are stronger, as individuals we are changed and we lift ourselves and those we know and love up with songs in our hearts of peace, light and life. What is your favorite song of inspiration? Sound off, view related pictures here and view related video below on this 9/11 anniversary.
