In terms of his newest single, “Puttin On The Ritz”, Alpert says that translating the classic into his own musical interpretation was one that he enjoyed doing: “From out of the blue, I found myself humming this great standard song, ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’ by Irving Berlin, and I wanted to find a new way to record it like it hadn’t been heard before. Working with my newphew Randy ‘Badazz’ Alpert, we put it in an unusual dance-type setting that I feel gives it an international appeal. The track is fun, upbeat and unique. I’ve always felt that if a song is fun to play, it will be fun to listen to…and it was fun to play.”
“Puttin’ On The Ritz” will appear on Alpert’s “Steppin Out” CD which is scheduled for release on November 19th! Will you make it apart of your music collection? Be sure to listen to “Puttin On The Ritz” on Houston’s The Wave by clicking here!
