For the few that still attend Astro games, security is about to get even tighter at Minute Maid.
According to chron.com, “walk-through metal detectors and hand-held detectors will be used at all gates starting June 24 as the Astros match MLB’s security guidelines. The new, enhanced security measures are in accordance with Major League Baseball’s guidelines to ensure fan safety throughout the league.”
The tragic events at the Boston Marathon spurred the MLB to up their security measures everywhere. Their hoping every stadium in the league will be in compliance by 2015.
“Fans will now be asked to remove their cell phone from the their pocket and place any bags on a screening table for inspection. They will then walk through a metal detector carrying their phone.”
As long as they don’t mess with $1 hot dog night, I don’t care what they do!
