Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been cancelled after 4 seasons following a report that its star “Mama June” Shannon is dating a registered sex offender.

REALLY Mama June?? Smh.

A new statement from the network reads, “TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

TMZ reported on Thursday, Oct. 23, that Shannon, 35, is romantically involved with a 53-year-old man named Mark McDaniel; Mama June says they dated 10 years ago. McDaniel was once allegedly convicted of child molestation involving Shannon’s 8-year-old relative. He was sent to prison in June 2004 and currently lives in Georgia. Find out more details about the troubled relationship.

TLC confirmed in a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday that the series was “not currently in production” amid the allegations. Shannon herself spoke out about the situation on her daughter Alana Thompson‘s official Facebook page on Friday, Oct. 24.

She added, “I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors. Remember you can’t believe everything you read!” she wrote. “I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else.
