Sam Smith has had a pretty awesome breakout year, and his debut solo album In the Lonely Hour (featuring the smash hit “Stay With Me”) helped him become one of the hottest new artists.
So what else could top this amazing year for Sam? How about singing the theme song for the newest installment of the James Bond movies?
EW claims it’s not a done deal yet, but the rumors say that Sam may be the one to sing the theme for the as-yet-untitled fourth James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig, due out next November.
According to Page Six, he’s in talks with series producer Barbara Broccoli about the gig, having supposedly beaten out Lana Del Rey for it. Past theme song artists have included Madonna, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Garbage, Adele and lots more.
Smith’s been denying rumors about a Bond theme since the summer, and his reps keep saying (so far) that “it’s not confirmed.”
