Celebs Advice On Dieting

Ah…the New Year’s resolution to DIET,  your will power is about to be tested. And soon. So, here are some recent comments from celebrities on dieting. Because advice from people who have private chefs and personal trainers that make house calls is EXACTLY who should be telling us normal folk what to do, right??

Jessica Alba: “We eat mostly lean protein and fresh fruit and vegetables, nothing processed or from a box, if we can. For me, when I don’t eat a ton of carbs, I have more energy.”

Gwyneth Paltrow: “It’s easy to get distracted by junk food when you are hungry, so keep healthy snacks on-hand . . . also, keep your cupboards well stocked with fresh basics to stay inspired to eat healthily.”

Jennifer Lopez: “I love to eat everything and you pretty much can . . . a little piece of something fattening is not going to kill you. It’s when you eat the whole box that it’s going to kill you.

“If you can learn to not eat till your stomach feels full and gross, then you can pretty much control your life in that area.”

Halle Berry: “[After learning I had Type 2 diabetes] I started to eat loads of wonderful fresh vegetables, chicken, fresh fish, and pasta. I cut out red meat and cut back on fruit because it can contain quite a lot of sugar.

“Now one of my favorite dishes is something simple but tasty such as grilled tuna and garlic mashed potato.”

Fergie: “I do [juicing] when I wake up and between meals. The energy it gives me is amazing . . . I hardly need caffeine anymore. We blend kale, spinach, broccoli, and celery with a banana, an apple, and a pear.”

Demi Lovato: “I’m on a structured meal plan. I eat four small meals and two snacks a day. It’s teaching me portion control.”

Rachel McAdams: “I drink maple syrup. Then I’m hyper so I just run around like crazy and work it all off.” (???)

Drew Barrymore: “I just think you should eat less of everything. A little bit less. I don’t want to live a life where you can’t have what you want.”

Laura Prepon: “I’ve always done crazy crash diets . . . I’ve ruined my metabolism that way. I did the hCG diet . . . [where you’re injected with] a hormone that’s extracted from the urine of pregnant women.” (Let’s assume she didn’t do the “extracting” herself.)
