Watch Tony Stark Present A Kid With 3D-Printed ‘Iron Man’ Arm

By Marissa G. Muller

Master actor Robert Downey, Jr. blurred the lines of reality and cinema in a new way when he presented an Iron Man bionic arm to a 7-year-old fan while fully in character.

The arm wasn’t just a prop though—it’s a 3D-printed bionic limb made for children in need by college Limbetless founder and college student Albert Manero, who donates his work and sells it at a low cost.

Alex, the recipient, was born with a partially developed right arm.

The video is a heartwarming reminder of how much power actors—especially ones that play super heroes—have to make a positive influence in others’ life. Alex had been working with Manero prior to Downey presenting him with the bionic arm, but he seems so much more excited about it when he got to meet Iron Man.

It’s also fairly lighthearted, as Robert Downey, Jr. compares Alex’s robotic arm to his own costume from Iron Man. You can probably guess which one worked flawlessly.
