By Shannon Carlin

5 Seconds of Summer are back with a song that well, sounds like summer.

The guys debuted a new track called “Permanent Vacation” on the first night of their tour, which kicked off in Lisbon, Portugal last night (May 4).

The song, a sure stadium pleaser with its “nah-nah-nah” singalong, sounds a lot like early Green Day, no surprise for the guys who have never denied their love for the recent Rock and Roll honorees.

On the track, the guys promise they’re going to take over your radio stations and become the voice of the generation.

And as the chorus goes, “I’m doing fine/ I know I’m out of time, so let’s sing this one time/ It goes destination, permanent vacation.”

With summer only a little more than a month away, we think the guys are trying to put themselves in the running for song of the summer, which they are hoping will never end.
