Houston area school districts were closed today as a result of the flood waters that reached over 11 inches.
Texas Education Commissioner Michael Williams announced Tuesday afternoon that schools will not be required to schedule a makeup day.
Originally, makeup days were scheduled for Friday, but that has since been changed after Williams gave a waiver option.
This is great news for some as the school year is scheduled to end on Thursday, but for others this puts a strain on Finals schedule.
According to The Houston Chronicle, Districts taking up the waiver offer are HISD, Cypress-Fairbanks, Fort Bend and Katy.
