Blue Bell’s plant in Sylacauga, AL has passed all submitted tests to the Alabama Department of Public Health and they have been given the thumbs-up to start producing creamery treats with no restrictions.
This was just tweeted from Blue Bell’s official Twitter account:
Oh Happy Day!
KHOU reports that the small size of the Alabama plant as the reasoning behind it being the first plant to be rehabbed which would result in quicker turnaround back to store shelves.
There is no word on the status of the Brenham plant, as the Texas Department of Health has not received the required two weeks notice needed for trial productions to begin. Given it’s size, the largest of the three, it will be the last plant to undergo improvements.
There has not been a timetable released for when our beloved sweet treat will again be in our grocer’s freezer, but Blue Bell wants us to know that news is coming soon!
We’re #thisclose folks 😀
