Kathie Lee Gifford’s husband and Pro Football Hall of Famer Frank Gifford died yesterday of natural causes at 84 years old. On top of playing football and being married to Kathy, he was also known for co-hosting “Monday Night Football” from 1971 to 1997.

His family released a statement saying, quote, “It’s with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, Frank Gifford. [He] died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home. We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being.”

Then Kathie Lee tweeted:

Frank played for the NY Giants his entire career from 1952 to 1964.  In 1956 he was named the league MVP, and led the team to a championship He married Kathie Lee in 1986, when he was 56 and she was 33.

The “Fantastic Four” bombed at the box office this weekend, opening with only $26.2 million, which is pretty terrible considering it took $120 million to make it.

It’s also less than half what the other two “FF” movies made. The first “Fantastic Four” opened with $56 million in 2005, and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” banked $58 million.

Here’s the Top 5 from this weekend:

1. “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation“, $29.4 million. Up to $109 million in its 2nd week.
2. NEW: “Fantastic Four“, $26.2 million.
3. NEW: “The Gift“, $12 million.
4. “Vacation“, $9.1 million. Up to $37.3 million in its 2nd week.
5. “Ant-Man“, $7.8 million. Up to $147 million in its 4th week.

Ghostbuster fans, it looks like Bill Murray will possibly appear in the new “Ghostbusters” movie.  While there’s no official word from Bill or anyone actually involved in the movie, the “Hollywood Reporter” says it’s happening, and they’re a pretty reliable source.

If Bill does appear in the movie, there’s no word what his role will be.  We already know that Dan Aykroyd has a cameo, possibly as a cab driver.

There are also rumors that Ozzy Osbourne has a cameo as himself.

Miley Cyrus thinks she gets a bad rap for how provocative she is, while other artists who are doing similar things get away with it.

To prove her point, she takes a bit of a shot at Taylor Swift and her “Bad Blood” video. She told Marie Claire, “I don’t get the violence revenge thing.  That’s supposed to be a ‘good example’? And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my [breasts] out?  I’m not sure how [breasts] are worse than guns.”

But she isn’t losing much sleep over it saying quote, “I don’t really stress too much about being out there.  There’s nothing left to catch me doing.  You want to hack my e-mail so you can find my nude pictures?  I’ll just [effing] put them up.”

Today is Duran Duran appreciation day!

The youngsters these days may not know about bands pre-One Direction, but these guys DEFINED music in the 80’s with over 20 hits under their belt.

In fact the band, who are still going strong, are set to play London’s o2 Arena in December. They’ve even just released a new single called “Pressure Off,” which you can hear on MIX 🙂

In honor of today’s “holiday” here is my pic with Simon Le Bon and John Taylor of the band from when they stopped by about 3 (or 4?) years ago…
