The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were last night. Miley Cyrus hosted, and Taylor Swift won four trophies, including Video of the Year for “Bad Blood.” I thought the show overall was JUST WEIRD. (but that’s pretty normal for the VMA’s though I guess…)
Anyways, one thing people are talking about is how Nicki Minaj called Miley the B-word after winning Best Hip-Hop Video for “Anaconda“. It stems from when they first announced the MTV VMA nominations, Nicki complained that she didn’t get enough. Then last week, Miley told the New York Times that Nicki was acting JEALOUS, and called her “not too kind.”
So after winning last night, Nicki said, “And now, back to this [b-word] that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?” And then gave Miley a mean look.
But Miley replied right away saying, “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate [stuff]. Nicki, contratu-[effing]-lations.” Oooooh, BURN!
Here’s the thing though, she responded so quickly some people thought the whole thing was STAGED. Especially since Nicki seemed to smile right before the cameras cut away.
Aside from Justin Bieber’s Kate Gosselin styled hair, people are also talking about how he cried after his mashup performance of “Where Are U Now” and “What Do You Mean”. Some say it was a message for his ex, Selena Gomez, but she wasn’t havin it. While Justin was performing, she was backstage with bestie Taylor eating a burger. lol
Kanye West got the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and finished his speech by announcing he’s running for PRESIDENT in 2020. Taylor Swift introduced him with a nod to when he infamously interrupted her at the show a few years back.
He spoke for more than 10 minutes saying, “I still don’t understand award shows. I don’t understand how they get five people who work their entire lives . . . to come, stand on a carpet and, for the first time in their lives, be judged on a chopping block and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don’t understand it, bruh! I been conflicted, bro! I just wanted people to like me more. But [eff] that, bro!”
“And yes, as you probably coulda guess by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
oh lord help us.
Zac Efron set a box office record over the weekend . . . for the WORST OPENING EVER for a major Hollywood movie playing in 2,000 theaters or more.
His electronic dance music drama “We Are Your Friends” made a pathetic $1.8 million on 2,333 screens. That was good enough for 13th place. But he’s still ridiculously good-looking, so don’t feel too bad for him.
The top 5 Movies from the weekend were:
1. “Straight Outta Compton”, $13.2 million. Up to $134 million in its 3rd week.
2. “War Room”, $11 million.
3. “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”, $8.3 million. Up to $170 million in its 5th week
4. “No Escape”, $8.3 million. Up to $10.3 million since Wednesday.
5. “Sinister 2”, $4.7 million. Up to $18.5 million in its 2nd week.
Legendary horror movie director Wes Craven of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and all four “Scream” movies, died yesterday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 76. His other films include “The People Under the Stairs”, and the original versions of “Last House on the Left” and “The Hills Have Eyes”.
Here is Taylor Swift‘s new music video for “Wildest Dreams” that she debuted last night at the MTV VMA’s. And if you’re wondering who the hottie actor is in the video, it’s Scott Eastwood…son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood.
Lindsay Lohan was at a millionaire’s wedding earlier this month and she was reportedly painting her nails during the ceremony, and later she stormed out of the reception, got completely naked and was running around her villa screaming that she’d been drugged.
According to reports, at the reception the announcer made a joke at her expense, and she was not happy about it. She stormed out and a source said, “She took off all her clothes and got completely naked and was running around her villa screaming that she’d been drugged.”
A rep for the groom tells the New York Post that none of this is true.
A HUGE shout out to the Pearland Little League baseball team for coming in third place in the Little League World Series! AMAZING job guys, we are so proud if you!
