Rachel Platten Performs ‘Fight Song’ With Cancer Patient

Rachel Platten surprised 7-year-old Jeremiah Succar by visiting him at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to sing “Fight Song” for him on September 1st.

Jeremiah is battling  stage-four atypical rhabdoid teratoid which according to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is “an aggressive, fast-growing tumor that occurs in the brain and spinal cord.”

Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” has been his favorite song since he was diagnosed with Cancer in May. Platten visited Jeremiah after she learned through social media that he is a big fan. The trending hashtag “#RachelMeetJeremiah” reached thousands until it finally reached Platten.

Jeremiah’s dad told CHLA, “Jeremiah loves “Fight Song”—he memorized the lyrics after three or four times of listening to it,” says Jerry Succar. “He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get.”

The video will make you cry as you watch sweet and polite Jeremiah sing along with his favorite artist and then ask for her autograph.

Rachel Platten is visiting us in Houston on September 20th at our MIX 25th Anniversary Concert. Click the link for more details.
