Dominique Sachse was featured in The Houston Chronicle this week. Once, a DJ on MIX 96-5, Sachse is now lead-anchor with KPRC, Channel 2 and has become a Houston Staple.
In an interview with Chron.com, Sachse talked about her experience on-air and the learning opportunity she had as part of the MIX family.
“I would dub commercials from reel-to-reel to cart, earning the nickname ‘Dubinique,’ ” Sachse said. “I would also voice some spots. I then worked the overnight shift as a DJ from midnight to 5:30 a.m. Oy!
“After a year, they promoted me to late nights. Mix people were some of the funniest and most creative people I’ve ever known, truly a career highlight, and what a segue into a news career. Being a DJ taught me how to communicate without a script, to always try to be relatable and personable and think outside the box.”
Dominique Sachse is one of the many talented personalities that have been a part of the MIX family in the past 25 years. Sunday, September 20th we celebrate 25 years of great music and talent in Houston at our Anniversary concert featuring, NEEDTOBREATH, Rachel Platten and Matt Nathanson.
