Miss America Winners Crying

I’ve never been in a beauty pageant. When I was 13 I got an ad in the mail inviting me to participate in my city’s local miss pageant, but after doing the princess wave (elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist, touch your pearls and blow a kiss) a few times to myself, I laughed at the idea and threw the ad away.

I did, however, enjoy watching Miss America pageants on television just as much as I enjoyed Disney movies (the reason I know the princess wave.) Aside from the glam and talent portions  my all time favorite part has always been the moment they announce the winner.

I don’t think you’ve ever truly seen a woman cry with joy until you dub her the most beautiful woman in America and give her a sparkly crown on national tv. The entire pageant is full of perfect composure and elegant smiles, but all of that goes out the window the moment the winner is announced. And that moment is hilarious. I’ve never been in a beauty pageant, but I’m pretty sure I would have had an all-star ugly-cry.

Everyone loves to see pretty people making ugly faces so check out the gallery below!
