Facebook is rolling out new updates to its mobile apps one of them being seven-second profile videos. You have seven seconds to show the world who you really are.
To make a profile video all you do is tap on the MORE button on the bottom right corner of your apps home page. Then select your profile at the top of the screen.
Once you’re on your profile which is now changed to feature your profile picture in the center of the screen you can tap the image and choose either TAKE A NEW PROFILE VIDEO or UPLOAD A PROFILE VIDEO OR PICTURE.
Then you hit record and it gives you a 3-second countdown to prepare. Seven seconds later you’ve got yourself a video profile!
With the popularity of Snapchat’s “story” videos, it’s no wonder Facebook would allow users to select a video to represent themselves. This is also really good for all those people who get duped into thinking they’re meeting this super hot guy or girl and it’s really just the angle of the picture. OR for all the people who have been catfished and think they’re talking to someone, but really it’s someone completely different.
I think this is a great update to Facebook and the social networking community. Gotta go record mine now!
