Can you imagine getting ARRESTED and thrown in jail for confiscating your 12 year old daughters cell phone? Because that’s what happened to a father right here in Texas (Grand Prairie) back in 2013.
He took her phone for, according to the court records, a GREAT reason. He discovered that his daughter, along with a group of her friends, was planning an attack on a fellow student.
Here’s where the story takes a twist: The Dad, Ronald, is divorced from the girls Mom, who has since re-married to a police officer. She called her new cop husband to report that the Ronald had taken the daughters cell. At this point the cops showed up, demanded he return the phone, and when he refused he was tossed in jail.
“I didn’t want the police telling me how to parent my child. I couldn’t believe they would go to this extent for a cell phone. It didn’t seem right.”
THANKFULLY, common sense prevailed this week. When he was brought into court on Tuesday, the judge dropped all charges against him. Unfortunately his daughter and ex-wife remains rocky.
