This week’s WOW, PIERRE ARCHAMBAULT Sancerre, 2014.
100% Sauvignon Blanc, cold settled for 48 hours after a slow pressing. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18°-20°C, followed by aging sur-lie for 5 months before bottling. Straw colored with green highlights; dry, medium-light-bodied with refreshing acidity. This is a soft, supple, easy-access, textured Sancerre offering clean citrus and mineral notes. Alive in the mouth with fruit-acid tension.
Don’t forget to check out the Cheese of the Week, Ile de France Brie.
Below a downy white rind, Ile de France Brie offers a deliciously creamy texture and hazelnut aftertaste for a true French flair. It makes a fresh baguette extraordinary and also serves as a party staple, served with fresh fruits, nuts or pistachios.
