This is flat out scary.
In the U.S. this year, there have been 23 reported cases of toddlers, ranging from ages 1 to 3, firing a gun at either themselves or another person. Sadly, 9 of those 23 cases were fatal, in most cases being the toddler them selves.
The recent stats came after a Milwaukee toddler fatally shot his mother after he found a loaded hand gun in the back seat of a car they were both riding in.
The Washington Post reports that since last year, toddlers are finding guns and/or shooting people at an alarming rate of once per week.
Currently, Georgia has the highest reported number of toddler related shootings with eight incidents since January 2015. Texas and Missouri are tied for second with seven reported shootings. Florida and Michigan tie for third with six shootings.
With the rising stats in America, this really does push the issue of gun safety. The Salt Lake Tribune has more on this story here.
