The last two days have been fuzzy ones for me, waking up Sunday morning to the horrific news of what happened in Orlando.
My heart literally shot up into my throat after reading the news, and then my second reaction was making sure my best friend there was ok. And he was. THANK GOD.
He was lucky. 100 other people weren’t.
The victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando are slowly being identified, and so far 36 of the 49 killed have been named. According to BBC.com, there were 32 men and four women between the ages of 19 and 50. My heart is breaking as I read more information about them, including one man who was desperately texting his mother from inside the club’s bathroom.
My best friend Chad Pitt who is currently on the air in Orlando, passed along this great information from Jet Blue Airways today. Please keep sharing.
And finally, take a moment to read about the identities of the victims >>> HERE. We will continue to pray for them and their families.
Here is some info on a community prayer vigil here in Houston tonight ::
“Join us in community tonight as we remember the lives lost in the Orlando tragedy. 6p at the Center, 401 Branard. Hosted by the Montrose Center, Legacy Community Health, the GLBT Political Caucus, Lambda NextGen, Out for Education, Outeach United, the LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and Pride Houston, tonight’s vigil will be a place to remember and grieve the LGBT individuals and allies lost in Orlando.
