It was a busy Thursday night for the young single men and women of Houston, auditions for ABC‘s hit reality show ‘The Bachelor‘ and ‘The Bachelorette‘ were in town looking for new hopefuls to try out for a chance to find love on national tv. Oh and in case you were wondering, there was plenty of wine available for folks who needed that extra little bit of liquid courage, lol.
I decided to try out for the show because WHY NOT, right? I’m 34…which seems a little bit on the older side of contestants for this show, but who cares. I deserve to find love just as much as the next single lady behind me.
Auditions were held at The Aquarium downtown, and were scheduled to be open to the public from 5-9p. I got there after my on air shift, and there were already tons of people there, including Houston’s own beautiful Erica Rose, who herself was a contestant on the show for season 12. She was there covering the auditions along with ABC 13.
The first thing they had us do was fill out paperwork, then take a photo on their “official’ camera. After the paperwork and pictures, we had to wait to be seen by producers, who took one person back at a time. They asked a series of simple questions, all leading up to us giving our best pitch as to why we should be chosen for the show. Hopefully the producers felt bad after hearing my sob story about being single, but no one will know anything for another 4-6 weeks. Fingers crossed for me guys!
I must say, it was pretty neat to be chatting with the folks in charge of one of the biggest reality shows on tv right now. I’m just glad they didn’t tell me I was tool old to accept this rose. 😉
