Spec’s ‘Wine Of The Week’ For 6/29

Lauren Kelly

This week’s ‘Wine Of The Week‘ from Spec’s is the LOOSEN UP RIESLING,RHEINHESSEN, 2014 and you can get a bottle for the cash price of only $7.99!

This is Ernie Loosen’s classic apple juice-peach-and-lime-fruit-with-spicy-mineral Mosel-style Riesling…but from the Rheinhessia. It is semi-sweet, and medium- to light-bodied with refreshing acidity. Bursting with sweet fruit but finishes clean and almost dry, so it can handle a good bit of Cajun or Tex-Mex spice. Great with grilled shrimp and the perfect wine to loosen up in the heat of a Texas summer. Spec’s Score: 90

And while you’re at Spec’s make sure to also check out the cheese of the month, which for June is the HENNING’S CHEESE CURDS JALAPEÑO PEPPER.

A great addition to any party, these colored cheese curds blended with jalapeño peppers make the perfect appetizer or pizza topping! Henning’s Cheese Curds are made from fresh, pasteurized cow’s milk. Rennet is added to clot the milk, then cooked and pressed to release the whey, thus making the solid cheese curds. These make a great appetizer at any party. You can also melt them on pizza or make a super homemade macaroni & cheese. You can even deep-fry them! Pairs nicely with Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Pilsner or Wheat Beer. Assorted flavors. 10oz.

For more information, check out the Spec’s website! Cheers to savings!
