Who decides what is inappropriate when it comes to teachers’ attire? A fourth-grade teacher in Georgia has become the subject of public criticism and debate  and inspired the social media hashtag #teacherbae. It’s all because of a handful of outfits she recently wore in the classroom. The controversy started when Patrice Brown shared several “outfit of the day” posts to her Instagram,  that she hashtagged with #OOTD, proudly showing off a few fitted, “bodycon” dresses. In another photo, she is wearing a tight pair of jeans and a long-sleeved Charlotte Hornets T-shirt. Though none of the outfits showed even the tiniest amount of skin, they are very form fitting and certainly flatter the teacher’s fantastic curves. This seems to be what people are upset about.

Many people on social media lashed out at Brown, calling her form fitting outfits “inappropriate.” She was reprimanded by the school district. APS issued a statement clarifying Brown’s position within the school system. According to 11Alive, APS stated that Brown was a paraprofessional employed by the district and that she has been “given guidance regarding the APS Employee Dress Code, the use of social media, and Georgia Code of Ethics for educators, and she has been cooperative in addressing her presence on social media.”

But not everyone thinks she’s doing something wrong. Here are a few of the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE tweets that have been floating around….
