When it comes to a weekend getaway in a fun new city, the first things you usually check for (price-wise) are the flights and hotels, right? I know this after the many, MANY bachelorette parties I’ve planned and been to over the years, lol. Well the most expensive US city to visit may not be where you think…

It’s NASHVILLE.

According to a new study done by CheapHotels.org, Nashville has become quite the popular tourist spot over the past few years, and is now the most expensive city to visit based on hotel rates.

“The average night in a three-star hotel in a prime location in Nashville will cost you $261, which is the highest of any of the 30 biggest cities in the country.” The rest of the top 10 most expensive are:

Boston

D.C.

San Francisco

Portland, Oregon

New York

Phoenix

Austin

Chicago

Houston

Now onto the cheapest cities to visit, based on hotel rates: “The cheapest is Las Vegas, where you can find a three-star hotel in a good location for $63-a-night.”  The rest of the 10 cheapest cities are:

San Antonio

El Paso

San Diego

Indianapolis

Detroit

Columbus, Ohio

Memphis

Jacksonville

Baltimore
