This is going to hit you right in the feels today…

A sweet photo that has gone viral online is showing even the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference.

According to ABC 13, a waitress at the La Marque Waffle House named Evoni Williams has gone viral after a customer recorded her taking time to cut up an elderly man’s meal for him.

Williams said the man is a regular customer, but this was his first time back after a trip to the hospital. She said she felt she was only doing the right thing and is surprised by the attention.

If that wasn’t enough, Williams is just 18 and is working at the Waffle House to save up for college, so the La Marque mayor Bobby Hocking wanted to honor Williams for her act of kindness, and presented a proclamation to Evoni at her Waffle House location. Williams said she was surprised by the outpouring of praise for her act of kindness, saying “It just came from the heart.”

Williams’ act also caught the eye of Texas Southern University, which surprised her at the proclamation with a scholarship totaling $16,000 – $4,000 for each of four semesters.

Love this! In case you missed it, a La Marque @WaffleHouse employee working her way through college is showing how kindness and patience can go a long way toward helping others. Now this afternoon, La Marque’s mayor will thank the worker for her act. https://t.co/yA6p1sUX23 pic.twitter.com/UyAR8Olp9B
