Company shocks Houston families by paying mortgage bills

January 13, 2021

Just the good news and kindness we need right now!  A local Houston company, Envoy Mortgage, shocked three Houston families by picking up the tab on their mortgage bill!

With all the hardships and efforts of frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic, Envoy says it was their way of giving back.

One recipient, Houston firefighter Josue Rios was shocked and said “Not something we’re looking for at all, we’re here to get our hands dirty and it’s what everyone here in the Houston fire department does every day,” Rios said.

During an interview with Rios on The Today Show, it was pointed out “Every mortgage payment from now until the end of 2021 is now free and clear!”

Lakeisa Vercher, another recipient and nursing home assistant at the Woodbridge Nursing Home, along with her two sons were delighted to receive one month of their mortgage paid!

“I’m relieved. I’m relieved, very relieved,” Vercher said.

Jenny Timberlake is a special education teacher at Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. She too will not have to worry about a month’s mortgage payment thanks to Envoy!

“I really try to have the most for my children and my family and so this is huge, especially after Christmas,” Timberlake said.

“Because we deal with people’s financial situations, we see the trials they go through on paper and to be able to give this to a family is incredible,” said James Beaver with Envoy Mortgage.

The Gift of Home Program has helped 50 families across the country. Envoy Mortgage plans to help another 46 families pay a month’s worth of their mortgage bills in the next few months.
