96 Second News: Brad Pitt Showed Up At Jennifer Aniston's Birthday Party; A Grammy Awards Recap

Would you invite your exes (plural!) to your birthday party??

February 11, 2019

**Jennifer Aniston had a huge 50th birthday party Saturday night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in L.A., and everybody was there . . . including her ex, Brad Pitt.

But don't get too happy about it...because there's absolutely no indication that they're getting back together, but a source says she was happy he came, and they, quote, "hugged and chatted for a bit."

So who else was there?  For starters, Brad's other ex, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer's other ex, John Mayer . . . plus John's ex, Katy Perry . . . and her current man Orlando Bloom.

Plus Jennifer's "Friends" co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox . . .

Along with George and Amal Clooney, Robert Downey Jr., Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, Kate Hudson, Laura Dern, Demi Moore, David Arquette, Pharrell Williams, and for some reason, Keith Richards.

Oh, and Reese Witherspoon . . . who partied so hard she fell down some stairs on her way out. lol

**Alicia Keys kicked off hosting the Grammys last night with some mega-girl power.  She brought out Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jennifer Lopez, and Michelle Obama…who got a standing ovation.

Childish Gambino tied Kacey Musgraves for the most wins: he won 4 awards for "This is America":  Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Rap/Sung Performance.  Sadly, he wasn't there to collect.

Kacey’s album "Golden Hour" won Album of the Year and Best Country Album.  Meanwhile, "Butterflies" won Best Country Solo Performance, and "Space Cowboy" won Best Country Song.

Lady Gaga had a good night, too.  "Shallow", from the "A Star is Born" soundtrack, won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.   She also won Best Pop Solo Performance for "Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?)".  Gaga also gave a pretty intense performance of "Shallow".

As far as performances, there was a fantastic tribute to Dolly Parton, featuring Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Dolly herself, of course.

**According to a new poll, the #1 gift GUYS want to get for Valentine's Day this year is . . . NOTHING.

Over 500 men were asked what they want, and 41% said they don't want anything for Valentine's Day. It's possible a lot of those guys just aren't in relationships though.

The survey only asked if they were married or not.  And about a third of the guys weren't. So some of them are probably just single and don’t EXPECT to get anything. 25% of women also said they don't want anything this year.

The top five gifts women DO want to get are a card . . . candy . . . flowers . . . jewelry . . . and a massage.

The top five gifts men want are candy . . . a card . . . BOOZE . . . breakfast in bed . . . and a book.

**Lifetime is looking for new actors to play Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan in Becoming Royal, the sequel to last year’s Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance.

“Now recently we heard a rumor that our favorite overseas royal couple, Harry and Meghan, are going to have a baby and so what better way to celebrate than with a sequel to our hit film that will air this spring,” A+E president of programming Rob Sharenow told reporters, according to The Wrap.

Sharenow added that the production team will be casting new actors to play the roles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because “unfortunately our original royal couple, Murray [Fraser> and Parisa [Fitz-Henley> are not available. So more news to come on who will take their crowns.”

The new movie, which has the working title of Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, will follow their love story and, according to Lifetime, pull “back the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the royal family during their pivotal first year of marriage.”

Production on the new film is set to start later this month in Vancouver. It will debut this spring on Lifetime.

**Pete Davidson inked a cryptic message over a once-matching tattoo he had with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande.

New York-based tattoo artist Jon Mesa took to Instagram on Saturday, February 9, to show off some of his latest work that he created for Davidson, 25. “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?” Mesa wrote alongside a photo that shows the Tootsie Pop owl inked in the middle of the comedian’s back. “Fun tats for the homie #petedavidson.”

However, it wasn’t just the snack-inspired ink that got all the attention. The matching “Mille Tendresse” tattoo that Davidson once had with Grande was completely covered on the back of the Saturday Night Live star’s neck with one that now reads, “CURSED.”

In Mesa’s photo, the Big Time Adolescence actor’s “always” tattoo written in Grande’s handwriting can still be seen on full display.

**Prince Philip gave up his driver’s license less than one month after he was involved in a car accident that left two women injured.

“Norfolk Police can confirm that the 97-year-old driver of the Land Rover involved in the collision at Sandringham on Thursday, January 17, 2019, has today voluntarily surrendered his license to officers,” a police spokesperson said in a statement to Us Weekly on Saturday, February 9. “We will follow the standard procedure and return the license to the [Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency>.”

The statement concluded: “The investigation file for the collision has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service for their consideration.”

Furthermore, Buckingham Palace released a statement on Saturday that read, “After careful consideration the Duke of Edinburgh has taken the decision to voluntarily surrender his driving license.”

Philip, 97, was involved in an accident near the queen’s Sandringham Estate in England in January. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace told Us in a statement at the time that he “was not injured.”

**Chipotle is testing out a new feature to make it easier to take home that burrito bowl.

The restaurant is adding drive-thru pickup lanes called "Chipotlanes" in several markets across the U.S.

Customers order online but instead of walking inside to pick up their order they can drive up and stay in the car.

So far, no " Chipotlanes" have launched in Texas but if they prove to be successful in other markets the company plans to expand them.

**There's a company called Nightfood and they just created ice cream that apparently helps you SLEEP.

It's VERY different than regular ice cream.  I never knew this, but it turns out that regular ice cream is BAD for your sleep . . . mainly because of the sugar or sucralose, and caffeine.

Nightfood's ice cream has extra protein and lots of other amino acids and enzymes that are supposed to help you fall asleep.  It's also low-calorie, like Halo Top, with around 320 calories in a pint.

If you're interested, you can buy pints now on their website in eight different flavors . . . and they say they'll be in grocery stores later this year.

**"The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" won the box office this weekend, earning $34.4 million . . . which is down quite a bit from the early projections of $50 million to $55 million.

The Taraji P. Henson movie "What Men Want" debuted in second with $19 million. Liam Neeson's new movie "Cold Pursuit" also struggled . . . possibly because of the controversy over his controversial comments last week.  "Cold Pursuit" cost $60 million to make . . . and it's Liam's worst opening since 2010.

That said, the movie wasn't supposed to be a blockbuster like his "Taken" movies.  In fact, some projections from BEFORE the controversy suggested it would make around $7 million to $10 million in its first week, which it actually surpassed.

Here's the Top 5:

1.  NEW:  "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part", $34.4 million.

2.  NEW:  "What Men Want", $19 million.

3.  NEW:  "Cold Pursuit", $10.8 million.

4.  "The Upside", $7.2 million.  Up to $85.8 million in its 5th week.

5.  "Glass", $6.4 million.  Up to $98.5 million in its 4th week.
